At the initiative of Select Friuli Venezia Giulia and in collaboration with Fincantieri, Newlab is launching an Open Call to identify and work with startups and technology companies developing next-generation solutions that enhance productivity, improve safety, and increase quality across shipbuilding operations, through real-world deployment and testing in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy.
The Open Call is focused on three main areas:
- Advanced welding in complex, space-constrained
environments
- Quality assurance and inspection
- Outfitting and installation optimization
Selected companies will have the opportunity to work directly with
Fincantieri’s innovation and business teams, together with Newlab, to develop
and potentially deploy pilot projects in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The initial application deadline is August 28, 2026.
